Welcome

Welcome to my blog. My blogging journey began about in August 2009 as a photo-a-day blog which has since transitioned to combine my love of good food and photography. Today, using as many local and fresh ingredients as we can, my boyfriend and myself spend time researching recipes, making our own adaptations, cooking, taking photos, eating, and finally reflecting on all or part of the above listed process here. I hope you take the time to not only read and look at our photos, but please cook some of the recipes yourself. You are invited and encourage to leave feedback as we continue our culinary journey!

Apples Apples and more Apples: Applesauce

Again, as a child, I loved applesauce with lots and lots of cinnamon. Therefore, I decided to try my hand at making it myself with the apples we purchased at last weekend's Apple Fest. Making my own applesauce was easy and delicious!

Applesauce
4 apples - peeled, cored and chopped
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan, cover, and cook on low for 20-30 minutes until apples are soft. Use a potato masher to mash the ingredients together. Eat hot or cold.

This entry is part 2 of a series of 3 apple recipe updates. Stay tuned because I've saved the best for last!
